To be able to change the brake pads and brake discs on the Ford Focus, the parking brake must be set to maintenance mode. This can be easily activated or deactivated via FORScan or manually. You can see how this works here.
To change the rear brake discs or brake pads, the electric parking brake must first be released and put into maintenance or service mode. If you have an electric brake booster, this is also useful for the front brake, otherwise the on-board computer will display error messages.
